My first true abstract. I spent a year slowly adding layers with excess paint from other projects. Approaching the canvas in this way helped slow down my thoughts and allowed paint application to happen more naturally and spontaneously. I tend to overthink my artwork and as a result, abstract work is very difficult for me. By giving myself guidelines, like using what materials I have on hand, it assists in a more relaxed approach.
